Folk it

Happy Friday to one and all.

I am busy planning the make over of my dining room which I plan to document and share with you. At the moment it is quite plain, with Farrow and Ball Great White on the walls, off white painted furniture, white curtains and a big patio sliding door to the garden. To me it feels a bit unfinished. I want to use the white background as a backdrop to lots of vibrant colours so that they really pop against it. Here are a selection of pictures I am using to inspire me and my purchases, I am calling it Tibetan Folk. My first thoughts are to go with the vibrant vibrant turquoises and reds but I think that a more subtle pretty look might be more in keeping with the style of my house. The final pictures show how the pastel shades can be balanced with neutral earthy tones. The first things to dig out of my garage are pretty saucers and plates and to find some plate hanging hooks.
